Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Ghana’s number one goalkeeper at the FIFA 2022 World Cup being played in Qatar, has been voted the 2022–23 Swiss Super League’s Best Goalkeeper of the Season.
The 26-year-old St. Gallen starter was chosen as the best in his position by the Swiss Association of Football Players, the FIFPro division for Switzerland. Ati-Zigi has been a key player for St. Gallen this season, making 30 league appearances and recording three shutouts.
JoySports highlighted Zigi’s accomplishments that contributed to his award by revealing that in his 30 games, he has faced 146 shots, and saved 103 of them (the greatest number in the league), giving him a save percentage of 70% while conceding 44 goals, or 1.5 goals per game.
