Ghanaian model and businesswoman, Confidence Haugen has urged Ghanaians pushing for the criminalization of LGBTQ+ in Ghana to read on the topic first.
According to the former BBNaija Housemate, violence against people with different sexual and gender orientations is not the right way the people of Ghana should go.
Reacting to report that the homosexual community in Ghana are being attacked after the Anti-LGBTQ+ Bill was tabled in parliament, Confidence Haugen has called for a broader appreciation of the topic by Ghanaians to stop the discrimination.
A page called “LGBTQ+ Rights Ghana” had alleged that since the Anti-LGBTQ+ Bill came to the fore, the homosexual community in Ghana are constantly attacked and vilified. It further alleged that gays, lesbians and transgenders are attacked on the streets by mobs or blackmailers.
This, Confidence Haugen believes needs to stop especially the violence against homosexuals and people who belong to the LGBTQ+ community.
Confidence Haugen, an advocate for the legalization of LGBTQ+ in Ghana later shared a video that gives an account of how homosexuals are reportedly discriminated against in ghana.
