I Lost Movie Roles Because Of My Size – Actress Roselyn Ngissah Discloses


Ghanaian actress, Roselyn Ngissah has disclosed how she lost a lot of movie roles because she is plus size.

Roselyn Ngissah has featured in a lot of movies both in Ghan and Nigeria. She has also taken up lead roles in a lot of movies. She has however recounted some difficult times she faced because of her weight.

The actress shared her story during the Access Bank Pan African Conference dubbed, “Woman, be unstoppable; Break the Bias”, a platform created for women to collectively promote a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination, and embrace and embrace one that is diverse, equitable and inclusive.

Roselyn shared some bad experiences she has encountered in the past with participants at the conference when she entered the movie industry. She mentioned how movie producers told her straight that they could not give her a role because she did not fit the role due to her size.


“I never gave up and instead, I had to upgrade and better my craft to make me who I am today” she added.

Roselyn Nsiggha has featured in movie roles like 4play, Adams Apple, princess Tyra, Power of the gods, last victory, A sting in a tale and many others.
