Mason Names The Two Players Who have Kept Chelsea Active

Mason Mount addressed the performances of Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho and also praised the duo for keeping Chelsea 'strong' through the season.
Mason has been a regular feature in Frank Lampard's starting Eleven (XI), the Blues have had to deal without N'Golo Kante for the majority of the campaign.
However, Jorginho and Kovacic have filled the gap left by the France national player brilliantly, and were also the two best players on the pitch in the 2-1 victory over Watford.
Mount has played in the number ten role, on the left wing and as the left-side midfielder through the campaign so far, but the England international has enjoyed playing with the two, more experienced, midfielders.
Mount said;
"Us young players coming through need those experienced players behind us to keep us focused, keep us going because they are the backbone in the team."

They have been brilliant.
"You can see how they have been performing recently, keeping the team together, keeping the ball moving and that is what a team needs.
Mason again said;
"Players like that to keep us ticking, and when we get higher up the pitch we are the ones who need to put the ball in the back of the net. They keep us so strong together."
One bad moment against the Hornets was when Jorginho was caught in possession and then conceded the penalty, following a pass from Kovacic which placed him under pressure.
But Frank Lampard was not disappointed in him by that moment in the game and has encouraged his midfielders to be willing to take possession in difficult positions.
"I think it’s hugely important in how I and we as staff want the team to play," he said. "We are trying to be fluid in our movement of the ball and, of course, that really does mean moving in through central areas a lot.
"You’ve got to be able to take balls in tight angles, it’s a huge attribute of those two but it’s also an attribute of a lot of our players.
"You should be willing to accept the ball and be comfortable to at this level of football. Look at the first game against Ajax, the pace and speed of the game, if you are not ready to accept it then it will find you out very quickly.
"We train on that sort of stuff and the players are good at it, but we can get better because I think the best teams do it even better than the rest do."They have been brilliant.
