On March 16, 2020 , there was closure of schools by HE the President Nana Addo due to COVID-19 pandemic. The initial directive allowed for final year
students of both JHS and SHS to remain in school to continue with
their examinations. When the West African Examination Council
(WAEC) suspended the conduct of exams, the final year students of
both JHS and SHS were also directed to go home.
After a month, which was June 15, 2020 There arrived the gradual reopening of schools for final year students to return to face-to-face instructions and to sit for their terminal examinations while observing health protocols.
On October 5, 2020 – JHS 2 and SHS 2 students return to school to
complete the 2019/2020 academic year. It was further directed that
al KG, primary, JHS 1 and SHS 1 students will return to school in
January 2021 to begin the next academic year.

Here are the reopening dates for various school levels;

SHS Reopening Dates
SHS 3 & SHS 2 (Green & Single Track – January 15, 2021)
SHS 1 & SHS 2 Gold Track – March 10, 2021

JHS Reopening Dates
JHS 1 – 3 – January 18, 2021

KG/Primary Reopening Dates
KG1 – P6 – January 18, 2021

Below were the conditions that were set by the Ministry of Education for the schools ;

1. Disinfection of all schools
2. Provision of Veronica Buckets, Soaps, Hand Sanitizers and Paper Tissues
3. Provision of washable and reusable Facemasks for all students and staff
4. Schools not available for outside activities
