SO SAD: Kamaldeen and Salisu’s Southampton relegated from EPL
Southampton completed a deal to sign centre-back Mohammed Salisu back in 2020 from Real Valladolid for £10.9m. Saints triggered a buyout clause in the 21-year-old’s contract and he agreed a four-year deal to move to St Mary’s.

Mohammed Salisu and Kamaldeen from cwill play in the English Championship the following season as a result of Southampton’s relegation from the Premier League.
The Saints realized their time in the premier league had been cut short after Saturday’s 2-0 home loss to Fulham.
At Saint Mary’s, goals from Carlos Vinicius and Aleksandr Mitrovic in the second half were sufficient for Fulham to overcome the Saints.
Sulemana joined them during the winter transfer window in an effort to keep the Saints out of the bottom three and participated in their defeat to Fulham. However, in 16 Premier League games, the 20-year-old attacker had only provided one assist.
His countryman Salisu has been out with an injury since March and has missed most of the matches since the international break. It has been suggested that he might end up playing for Newcastle United in the English Premier League or Atletico Madrid in Spain.

After being demoted from the 2022–23 Premier League, Southampton, an English professional football club with its home base in Southampton, Hampshire, will play in the Championship, the second division of English football.
Prior to 2001, they were headquartered at The Dell, and St Mary’s Stadium is now their home field. Red and white shirts are worn by the team.
The club’s origins as a St. Mary’s Church church football team led to their being dubbed “The Saints” by fans. Portsmouth and Southampton have a protracted South Coast derby rivalry, in part because of the cities’ close proximity and shared nautical heritage.
