Youth Eminence Award Ghana 20 took place last Saturday at Glory Land Hotel in Accra with the Red Carpet starting at 6 pm.

The main event started at 08:45 pm and closed at 12 :30.

The event opened powerfully with a Kumasi based underground artist, Ruth Nyamekye and Naphyl who threw the whole auditorium into a spirit filed atmosphere. Nelson Mandela Junior, one of the finest poets yet underrated in Ghana wowed and won the hearts on many with his ‘Black Lives Matter’ poem for the opening of the first batch of awards.

Righteous Vandyke ,one of the youngest fast rising artists in Ghana stole the show with his scintillating and beautiful High Life and Contemporary High Life performance. He won New Artist Of The Year and a citation package worth Gh¢1200.00.

Antidote, another artist who hails from Volta Region and was nominated in three categories won Hip Hop Artist of The Year. His performance was also taunted as one of the best on the night. In his acceptance speech, he called on the world to visit Aflao, his home town because his people are stubborn but are the coolest and fun to be with.

Then came the coveted award, Artist of The Year which went to Cestoda.

As a maiden edition of an award of such stature, many entertainment pundits have applauded the efforts of Esteem Premium Business, the power behind the event for a violent free program. The CEO, Silas Opare through EPB’s manager, Vasco said, they had been through a lot of financial challenges when all the sponsors withdrew their sponsorships due to COVID 19 but they went ahead to see the program through.

Dr Ray, an engineer who is revered by many A-list artistes in Ghana got happy about the organisation and pledged a free studio music recording for two artistes who won Artist Of The Year and Raper Of The Year .

YEAG20 made history as a maiden award event in a pandemic season without any financial support but came of with a violent free audience.
